Reading comprehension interventions such as metacognitive reading logs were administered with the goal of improving student literacy. Trade books, newspapers, and others types of media were used to differentiate instruction as part of intervention strategies. The results indicate that when students are given the opportunity to read outside of class, their ability to comprehend scientific information increases.enBiologyLiteracyHigh school studentsThe effects of literacy intervention in high school biologyProfessional PaperCopyright 2011 by Christopher G.
