dc.description.abstractThis paper explored the effects of university students' understanding of fundamental concepts as various tools were used to help see ideas from a different perspective. Changes in student attitudes toward types of problem solving along with a growth in knowledge base were also explored. The results indicated that these tools help more in the long term vs. short term and attitudes and knowledge base are difficult to change.en
