Abstract
This project developed five resources to assist high school biology teachers implement science notebooking more effectively. Although science notebooking is not a new instructional strategy, teachers may find implementing science notebooking overwhelming, time consuming, and intimidating due to the shift in pedagogy. To address these challenges, I developed five resources to assist teachers in effectively integrating science notebooks into their instruction. The first resource provides an overview of different types of notebooks to assist teachers in selecting a notebook that best aligns with their students and curriculum. The second resource, a slide deck, guides teachers in supporting their students with notebook setup. The final three resources consist of introductory lessons designed to help students use color, drawings, text, and templates to create meaningful notebook entries. Together, these resources seek to foster student engagement, promote participation, and develop effective study practices. Overall, this paper demonstrates how structured support and practical tools can make science notebooking accessible and manageable for high school biology teachers.
