The purpose of this research project was to determine the impact cooperative learning and teambuilding would have on high school physics students both academically and socially. Students were divided into two groups for the unit taught on light. Four classes, 122 students, were taught using cooperative learning strategies this was compared to two classes, 65 students, who were taught the same information without the use of cooperative learning strategies. Due to the short duration of the intervention most of the results were not significant, although the students' willingness to work together did show improvement in the group of students who were taught with cooperative learning strategies compared to the students who were not taught this way.en
