    Centers and centralizers

    The center, or the largest commutative subobject, of algebraic structures plays a critical role in understanding these structures. We first present the classical notions of center of some common algebraic structures. Then we use a categorical definition to find the center and more generally centralizer of any given morphism in several categories of algebraic structures.
