SindelarDocumentary film narration styles have evolved over the years adjusting to the changes in the medium's trends. An unconventional narration style, one that is more personal and intimate, has evolved and become the newest narration trend. This paper evaluates four films: Conservation International's 'Nature is Speaking' (2014), Raoul Peck's 'I Am Not Your Negro' (2016), Chris Marker's 'Sans Soleil' (1983), and finally, Ashley Lobao's 'Vineas Salutis: Vineyards of Salvation' (2023) to explore how an unconventional narration can establish a films point of view and deliver a deeper meaning to the viewer.
