Item Ski Yellowstone : base lodge(Montana State University - Bozeman, 1987) Howard, Mark T.; Chairperson, Graduate Committee: Clark E. LlewellynFOCUS To develop a climatically responsive architectural form for the yellowstone region. APPROACH To analyze climate, vegetation of the site, wildlife and region as a means of expression related to sensitivity. Clientele and typological studies will be used to determine the flavor of the architecture. A merging of these two characteristics will be used to define the scope of the problem while considering the function based on user needs assessment. VEHICLE To use the set goals of the Ski Yellowstone Corporation Planning Commission for the development of Ski Yellowstone and to allow my assessment of user characteristics to add definition to the design of Ski Yellowstone. Thus, regionalism plays a lesser role than that of cultural aspects.
