Abstract
This architectural project deals with a lakefront
development in Ashfield, Massachusetts. The situation is
real in the sense that this place has and still does exist,
however this project is hypothetical and being used strictly
for the educational purposes of a student of architecture.
The architectural components of this project include
a pavilion, a beach, some cottages, and the site development
of this place. This is a situation where the seasonal
and year round facilities coexist along a lakefront in a
traditional New England village. It is as though this
place has the identities of both the village and the lakefront,
and the architecture must link these two sets of
existing conditions to present an appropriate totality in
the landscape.
