dc.description.abstractThe study of an array of fossils of fishes from the tertiary of Cuba and the Hispaniola has allow us to identify several teeth of Sphyraena. This genus was previously recorded for the pliocene of western Cuba. Here we extend the temporal and spatial distribution of barracuda in the Caribbean, with three new localities in Cuba and one in the Hispaniola.en_US
